Our Mission

The mission of Castaways Animal Shelter & Sanctuary is to serve as an advocate for animals and to:

Provide care, a safe haven, and adoption services for lost and abandoned animals.
Educate the public about the humane treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership
help to provide affordable spay/neuter services.

Our Philosophy

Castaways has an 'open door' policy; every animal finds shelter here. We strive to ensure that healthy, socialized animals are made available for adoption. We do not euthanize animals due to lack of space. There is not a time limit for adoption. However, we do have the responsibility to ensure that we do not place dangerous animals in out community and that no animal suffers from a medical condition that goes beyond our ability to provide treatment. We consider the unique needs of all the animals in our care; we work compassionately to prepare safe, appropriately socialized pets for a wonderful new life. As you can imagine, opening our doors to so many animals requires the support of people like you.
